Steve's Tanks Descriptions
This is what Steve does for a living. He takes these ugly looking tanks after they have been welded and grinds the weld off until they shine. He is just as good at getting the dishes to shine too. This is a tank he just finished. The square will go in a glove box for pharmaceutical companies. It is a going to a pharmaceutical show as a proto-type, The round tank is for a drug company. The inside diameter is 14" and 22" deep. The kids love to see how Dad spends his day away from us.

Band Concert

I know bad video! I took this with my digital camera sitting from the bleachers on the stage. Garrett is the trombone player in the burgundy shirt sitting in front of the drum. I hope to get the other clip uploaded either today or tomorrow. Remember this is a 5th grade band.

Moby Dick
This is Moby Dick. He is a very special fish to us. When Seth & Darcy moved out of the apartment in July of 2001, they left behind a tank with 2 fish. They asked if I would take care of them. They forgot to give me a key when they left. I did not get a key until October.
When I saw the tank it was very low on water. I thought for sure the fish were dead. Out of the top of the water stuck the top of this fish. I quickly got a pail of water and put him in it. Unfortunately he was in there with a Tiger Barb who hard eaten his bottom fins off.
He has had his tough times: Once, about a year ago, he was found upside down. We put him in a medicated hospital tank just waiting, but he pulled through. Friday morning, he was found floating on the top of the tank. He is back in the hospital tank, but not doing very well. I am very surprised he was still alive this morning. He is a fighter! Levi checks on him a lot during the day.
Regionals
Well, this weekend was a rough one. It was regionals so only Garrett wrestled. He had very high hopes. He worked very hard to drop 5 lbs to get in the bracket he wanted.
His 1st match-He has wrestled this boy twice before and has pinned him both times, Apparently this boy had learned his mistakes with Garrett and how to counter him. Garrett lost 2-5
His 2nd match- Here they go by birth years which is a disadvantage to Garrett. He is 11 and in the 5th grade. This boy was in the 7th grade. He was a very good wrestler. The other boy pinned his other matches but Garrett held his own and lost 0-4.
His 3rd match was his hardest- It was a 7th grade girl. Why parents allow their daughters to wrestle young men is beyond my understanding!?!?! (Especially at this age.) We strongly believe this kind of physical contact is wrong. Garrett agrees that God would not approve if he wrestled her. At first it was very rough on him. He lost his first match and knew he had to forfeit this one. So he knew there was no way he was going to state this year. I did not post a picture of her because she was not even dress modestly and was quite embarrassed to even look at her.
After all was done, he knew he glorified God in his decision and that mattered more than going to state. He saw that being a good, consistent, testimony was more important than being a good wrestler. After-all that is why we are here!

Garrett's 3rd Match NL
Big Blue Kaleb's 2nd match
Click on the picture to take you to the video of this match.
This was his 2nd match. I did not make it to his first match because it was in a different gym than Levi & Garrett were and I did not make it it time. He was in a 3 man bracket. For this seasons stats check out our Family Web-page.

Snow after Snow...
Hopefully tomorrow I will have more Wrestling up-dates for you. Tomorrow is our Big Blue Tournament. Kaleb gets to wrestle too.
Meanwhile I need to find joy in the season I dislike the most. As long as I stay in my 80 degree house it is beautiful outside. Still snowing though. Steve borrowed a tractor yesterday from a friend to clean the driveway more before it hit again.
Friday Snow
Well we did not get as much snow as anticipated! Nor did we get anywhere near what the grandparents in MN & IA got
According to our measure pole we got 4" this morning and it is still snowing. The rain on Thursday did diminish the snow before it started again. This is Steve's old truck parked in the side yard waiting for the weather to clear so he can pull the engine to sell.
