Garrett's WestField

I posted this short video to show a move Garrett makes. Unfortunately for his opponent, it pulled his shoulder too much and he left shortly after this video ended.

Levi took the pictures of Garrett. They had the older boys in another gym. Steve sat with Seth and I ran back and forth. I had to video so Levi took the pictures. If you look in the 2nd match the man in yellow is the father of the 3rd match. While Garrett was wrestling his first match the man turned to his son and said "You're going to get hurt!", right after Garrett did his Alligator Roll. The other boys could not believe that Garrett was only a 6th grader. They were 7th graders.

Levi Westfield

When I saw Levi's bracket I thought he was in for a long run. The boys looked so much bigger than him. He managed to hold on. He pinned his 1st and 3rd matches and won his 2nd by points. He placed 1st!

Seth Westfield

Seth was the smallest kid there (30 lbs) the next smallest were 35 & 38 lbs. So they bumped him up so he could wrestle. These kids were quite a bit bigger than him and much more co-ordinated. It did not bug him. He had fun and got a medal. The pictures from the first match were lost in my error (see below post) so thankfully I had the video of the first match. The second match people kept getting in my way so that one did not turn out very well, but Steve got good pictures.

Boy, has it been a day. I know I promised to get the pictures uploaded today. While I was uploading the videos I decided to clean off my SD card on my camera. Well, in the midst of moving the pictures to my external so I could put them with my digi-scrap stuff somehow it deleted all of my pictures on my card. It asked if I wanted to delete the 2 pictures I had just moved, I hit ok and the whole folder went....Thankfully I found a program that did SD card recovery and I now have all 400+ of the pictures back. So tomorrow after I get the sermon/choir uploaded on the church web-site I will go through the pictures again. The videos are just about done uploading and then I am going to bed. I will post the videos tomorrow too.

Snow, Snow and MORE SNOW

Well, it is snowing again. The rail was clean yesterday.

Warm-Ups

Just thought you would enjoy some good warm up shots. I took these for the top of the stands so they are not the best. Just far too cute to pass up! We had a very small team due to the -20 degree weather.

Garrett's

Garrett was in a 3 man bracket this week. He won his first by points (4-0) and his second he pinned. The video that will be uploaded tonight is of his last match. If you get lost in our blog and want to check out this seasons wrestling check the labels on the right column. If you click say "January Wrestling 08" It will show all the posts that I have labeled as such. I will do the same with February etc.

Levi's 1/19/08

Levi did pretty good this time. He won his first with a pin in the 2nd quarter. He lost his 2nd by points. It was hard to get good video or pictures of it as Garrett and Levi were wrestling at the the same time and it was only one match away from Seth's 2nd match. I was sick so I sat in the stands and my heart was racing!!! Levi also pinned his 3rd match in the first round. The video is of his first match of the season.

Seth's

Seth did pretty good for his first time out. He was pinned his first match, but handle it very very well. His second match he lost by points 7-21. His last match he won 12-4. So every match was an improvement! Now if we can get him to stop smiling the whole match....give us the mean look Seth! The video is of his last match.

Rippentrop Christmas

This year for Christmas we went to Steve's brother's house. Gayette was too close to her due date and was not allowed to travel. We had a great time and as you can tell had oodles of presents. Garrett had plenty of room to ride his wave board all the time. Heath had to show Kaleb who was still the oldest and Kaleb did his best to show him his side of the story. Shelby did not leave Lois' side.

Our Family Christmas

Our messy house after all the presents were opened. Sethy checking out his new Diego pajamas. Garrett is wave-boarding in the kitchen.

Sethy opened his talking Diego doll. He was amazed that it knew his and Shelby's name. It says things like "Seth and Shelby love to eat Hamburgers and so do I" He loves it. It gives him directions and he has to follow them. Maybe I should talk in Diego's voice and he would follow my directions :).

Kaleb's Fingers

This morning Kaleb went out to stoke the fire. he is a good son trying to keep his mother nice and toasty warm. Well, the log hit something on the inside top of the stove and bounced back out. It hit his fingers and landed on the front of the stove. We had a doc and 2 nurses at church tonight tell him it was broke for sure. He had to come home tonight and drill a hole in the smaller one so it did not split the nail. We are suppose to splint them tomorrow after the swelling goes down. Keep him in your prayers, he is in a lot of pain

Sophia Joy

In the next few days I will make up greatly for the time span in postings. I will post wonderful pictures of both sides Christmas and our wonderful visit with Heath & Lois.

First I would like to introduce you to our newest niece. She was born to Steve's brother and his wife on the 31st. Her name is Sophia Joy. Princess Shelby is very excited to have another princess in the Rippentrop family. We cannot wait to go visit her (and her parents of course too!)
